Which build is better?

There are 2 CPU+GPU+Mobo combos i have chosen, for pretty much the same price, and i need help choosing the right one:

1.
MSI PH61A-P35 (B3)
i5 2400
Leadtek Hurricane Dual Fan GTX 560 Ti

2.
Asus P8Z68-V LX
i3 2100
MSI Twin Frozr II GTX 560 Ti

Which one of these 2 would be better for gaming and everyday use? I know that i5 is better, but is the mobo and GPU downgrade worth it?

More about which build better
  1. The second. You have a Z68 motherboard what alow you to upgrade your cpu with an i5, i7 or Ivy Bridge in the future and 560Ti Twin Frozr II from MSI ,is agreat video card.
  2. i5 all the way.
  3. I'd go with sosofm's logic myself.
  4. Ok... With these 2 build the rest of the system would look like this:

    4GB Patriot 1333MHz CL9 ( 1x4 )
    Seasonic SS-520GB
    Cooler Master Elite 430
    Hitachi 160GB sata2 ( reused )

Now, if i compromised a little, say...

PSU to Chieftec CFT-600-14cs ( every single person recommends me this PSU, even a Serbian PC newspaper said it would be a great choice )

i would be able to afford this combo:

    i5 2400
MSI Twin Frozr II GTX 560 Ti
    MSI PH61A-P35

and i wouldn't upgrade anything. What do you think?
  5. The first one. The H61 is still upgradable to Ivy Bridge, but you won't need it cause the i5-2400 is fast enough to last you a long time.

    Exactly what i thought.
  7. Ok, this is the final build:

    Intel Core i5 2400
    MSI H67MA-E35
MSI Twin Frozr II GTX 560 Ti
    4GB DDR3 1333MHz Excelram
    Seasonic SS-520GB
    Cooler Master Elite 430

I decided to add a couple of bucks and buy the Twin Frozr II. Now, before i order, will i be able to max out modern games ( with exception of BF3 ) at 1680x1050? Maximum AA and AF isn't necessary.
  8. I'm pretty sure you will.
