It ceases only when I restart the system. What could be the possible cause? Please advise. Also check that cables are not being caught in fans. Tighten screws that mount the hard disk and ODD. | Report abuse birrdd123 May 12, 2012 7:47:01 AM What kind of noise is it making? I found that screws mounting the HDD were a bit loose. I tightened them. Now there is NO FREQUENT noise on boot up. However this is heard seldom. | Report abuse hunuok May 19, 2012 10:06:53 AM Good to hear you sorted most of your problems. I purchased rubber washers to help dampen vibrations from HDD/ODD and fans. | Report abuse prati June 5, 2012 3:36:12 AM prati said:Thanks for your responses. There was noise on bootup even after tightening the screws[mounting the HDD]. It's actually SMPS fan that is making sound.
