Panasonic has provided a pretty rare opportunity to tell, directly, its
Panasonic Lumix camera designers what you want from a camera and what you
like and dislike about Panasonic Lumix cameras in particular, via an online
survey (http://www.dpnow.com/1799.html). There is a prize draw for all
properly submitted surveys too.

The survey findings will be presented to Panasonic engineers and designers
next month for discussion and evaluation, so your comments could help shape
the design of future Panasonic Lumix camera models.

The survey doesn't take that long to fill in and you never know, you might
win something!

Why am I suspicious that this is a e-mail/telephone harvesting scam?
I would expect something legit to come from the mastushita?? or
panasonic domain.

DPNow is an established and trusted UK-based site, run by professional
journalists, specialising in digital photography topics.

It appears you haven't even looked at the survey - we don't ask for a phone
number (or address), an email address is required but only because there is
a prize element to the exercise as a thank you for taking the trouble to
complete the survey form. If you want total anonymity, that's fine because
we don't verify the email address. Your IP address is recorded, but only to
weed out any obvious multiple entries.

But above all, the form has 20 questions - hardly the best method of
'harvesting' valuable personal details.

Finally, we clear state on the form our promise of privacy that we don't
pass on email addresses to third parties without the express permission of
the owner. Indeed we have only ever run one survey in our near four year
existence where a third party requested such details and we provided a
choice for the reader on that occasion.

The idea behind this survey was not Panasonic's, it was ours. But the
questions are based on similar ones we were originally asked by Panasonic.
So we decided to poll our readers in order to strengthen the value of our
contribution to the debate started by Panasonic. The data accumulated will
be presented to Panasonic at a special meeting attended by us and a number
of other selected photography publications from a number of countries.

I hope that puts your mind to rest?

PS Shouldn't that be 'Papa' instead of 'Paul'?

Because you're an idiot that hasn't looked at the survey and you're
assuming things that are not true just to entertain your own paranoia.

That's be cause you are ignorant of how these things work.
Few, if any, major companies run their own surveys.

Being suspicious given the morals on usenet and society in general
does not make one an idiot.

Sorry no 73's,
