I'm looking at buying a 6870 or a 560ti right now, and I'm worried that my PSU might not be able to handle it perfectly. Here is my set-up:

- 4 120mm fans
- 1 CD Drive
- AMD Phenom II x4 @ 3.2 ghz (Unlocked from a dual core)
- 1 HDD
- 1 PCI Wireless N card
- 550w BFG PSU

My biggest fear is pushing my PSU too hard and shorting out the computer that I've been working towards for a very long time. Do you think that it is safe to run a 6870 on this PSU?

Thanks in advance!

By the way, this is my first time posting on these forums, so I apologize if I formatted incorrectly or placed this in the wrong section, I haven't gotten used to everything yet :)

I have a 550w power supply, and I'm about to get either a 6870 or 6950. If your power supply is not cheap and is decently rated you will be fine. I'm on 550w XFX Core series
