Winpower Help?

Last response: in Components

Hi i currently have a winpower atx-450 (450W), and i was wondering if it would run a radeon hd6770? The rest of my build:

Core 2 duo 3.1GHz.
4GB DDR2 Ram
Nvidia geforce 9400GT
Windows XP

I would like to be able to play mafia 2 in 1080p smoothly, 40-50FPS. Will the PSU run this card??

Thanks

I would replace that PSU.. in theory 450 watts is enough to run a 6770, But that PSU is going to be putting out a lot less watts on the 12 volt side. Most likely when you add a larger load to it its going to go "pop" on you. (Even if it has ran for 2-3 years just fine)

Try this one out,

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168... CORSAIR Builder Series CX430 V2 $44.99 (with rebate 24.99)

That will have the juice to run a 6770

Honestly i would replace that winpower even if i wasn't upgrading a PSU... Just google winpower atx and read all the stories of shorted out systems and you will want to switch.

I think i will switch, but the problem is, i live in the uk and newegg can't ship there, i can get a ANTEC VP450P, would that be better? Also i have to upgrade my psu for a new graphics card as it has no pci-e connecter, cheap and cheerful hey!

I havn't ran BF3, But i can run Skyrim on max settings and Swtor,WoW, Rift, etc... All on max no problem on a 22" 1920x1080 AOE lcd screen.

The 6850 is stronger then my 550Ti, so as long as your on a single screen your most likely going to be quite happy with it.
