Cpu upgrade, old system

Hello, I'm trying to breath a little life in an old system. When I put this amd athlon 64 x2 6000 (ada60001aa6cz) into the below system it locks up at the "dell" startup screen. But after a couple of hard shut downs, it somtimes starts, but then works perfect 50% of the time. Any ideas of what i can do to keep it stable? 2. Hi :)

    Paragraphs would help....lol

    All the best Brett :)
  3. Is the athlon 64 x2 6000 a new or used processor. Have u tried updating the Firmware for the motherboard. Sometimes new processor wont run properly on boards that are compatible but have old firmware.
  4. According to this link that processor wont work for your motherboard but its hard to say if its the same one because of your lack of proper details. http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20101030193733AARTg71
  5. Disregard my last post i dont think its the same motherboard
  6. Sorry don't know why that happened......
