Hello. I have an Asus M2N68 AM2 socket mobo that supports AM3 CPUs. I want to upgrade to the faster Phenom II but my mobo's support list says that it supports up to the Phenom IIX4 955. I was ready to buy one but I found out it was out of stock. The shop had an 965 though but it is not included in the support list. Why shouldn't it work with my motherboard? Isn't the 965 just a slightly overclocked version of the 955?

Here's the support list: http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/AMD_AM2/M2N68/#CPUS
