Processor help please

hi all

i would like to ask for help with my computer, i have taken these from my dxdiag and hope that you can help me with telling me what to upgrade and to what it should be upgraded too. it plays games pretty well like battlefield 3 with most settings on medium and few on high. whats the next processor up from mine and roughly how much would it cost? any help with improving my rig would be fantastic....

what are you trying to achieve? as you GPU is a little weak, you've plenty of memory, and your cpu is so-so.

You might be able to find a better cpu on ebay for your price, BUT it'll only be a marginal improvement, perhaps 5-10%, do not expect miracles.

for 40-50 you are not going to get significantly smoother, perhaps enough that on the first day or 2 you think yes, thats better, but then after a week you'll be wondering if you actually did anything. Your CPU platform is very dead, hence there is a limit to what can be achieved there. Your gpu is weak, but to get much better you'd have to spend a lot more.
