Have a radeon 6870 return for 560 ti?

Hi I am new to the forum and have extensively searched for the best budget card for my build. I bought everything from new egg and went with the xfx radeon 6870. When I got my stuff I realized there are some cards that are better for not much more. Newegg will return the card without the restock fee. The only card that is sort of affordable is this one http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125401

Should I return my 6870 to get the nvidia 560 ti? Will it play substantially better in bf3? Also which is more stable?
I might go with the 6950 if I could find one cheap enough.

Intel core i5 2500k
Asus 067 saber
corsair 4 gb low latency
adata ssd
650 w psu

  1. That's a great price on the GTX 560 Ti, if you aren't going to be paying much to send it back it might be worth it.

It was the first one. Like I said they are not doing the restocking fee so I definitely want to upgrade.

I also stumbled upon these two cards. The evga 560 ti is probably better than the gigabyte 560 ti I mentioned earlier. I just missed the rebate on the hd6950. Out of those two, which should I get?

Of these two, I would get the Gigabyte card. The biggest reason is that it will most likely run cooler and quieter than that particular EVGA card. The heat sink is much nice on the Gigabyte.

Performance wise, they will both run just about the same, only beating each other by a few fps here and there depending on the game.

I like the graph that Helltech put up, because it pretty much sums it up. The 6870 is about 6% Slower than the 560Ti in general, and the 6950 is generally 6% faster.

For BF3 I think a lot of people look at charts that show the Nvidia cards performing a little bit better than normal, since they have an advantage in MSAA performance, in that particular game. Unfortunately, running with those settings would put FPS too low, especially in min values, and is completely idiotic to do. SO, as far as playable settings go, the 6950 is actually superior, as it would be in most games.
