Hello,
I bought a GT 430 2GB DDR3 lately. Being a mild gamer, I was curious about the specs of my GPU and wanted make sure if my card's specifications match to that mentioned on Nvidia's website. But to my surprise, the memory size and memory bandwidth is exceptionally low to what the company claims on this card.
Specs: Clock - 700 Mhz; Memory - 533 Mhz; Shader - 1400 Mhz

What was it supposed to be?

2GBs on that card was a waste, you should have bought the 1GB GT240 or better. That card games about as well as a GT220.

a gt 240 with 1gb gddr5 would have been better. gt 430 is a decent htpc card. but the 2 gb vram is wasted on that gpu like 4745454b said.
may be you could oc the card (if it's got a good cooler) and try to get some extra performance out of it.
check with the gfx card hierarchy chart on this article it'll give you a good idea about your gfx card.

Memory Clock on a 1 GB DDR3 card is 800-900 MHz

All the comments on this thread in a nut shell the GT 430 2GB not worth the money and to get the specs for your 430 as to where they should be it is inplied to OC the card. They are saying that the GT 240 for the money would have been the better choise. Here is a chart of how the cards compair with each other. If you can take the card back and try to exchange it. Good luck
