WPA-PSK, WPA disappear

Last response: in Wireless Networking

Hello and welcome to Tom's Hardware Forums.

Those initials refer to levels of security in wireless networks so you won't find them in your laptop. Are you saying you can't connect to any network unless it has only the WEP level?

Hello;
Thank you for your message.
When I click the properties of wireless network connection , I click wireless user name, and click property again, it shows a dialogue box named association, there is wireless network key option, for the wireless authenticaiton : I only have open and share two options, currently my wireless set it to open,
And for the data encryption: it only has WEP and disabled two options,
I remember before this part has WPA , and WPA-PSK .
I do not know what reason causes this.
how can I set up to get WPA and WPA-PSK get back into the data encryption list.
Thanks.

Which version of Windows are you using? My Properties in XP aren't the same as you're seeing. Have you made any changes to the configuration of your wireless adapter?

Hello ;
Thanks for your reply.
I use windows xp. Right, you remind me, actually I have changed another wireless adaptor, seems this wireless adaptor only support WEP encryption
I try unstall it , and install the former one, seems WPA, WPAE, WPA-TSK come back.
Seems it is issue for the wirelss adaptor.
Thanks a lot!
