Hi, I just posted a stuttering issue related to Diablo 3, and I was wondering if someone proficient with addressing CPU related issues can confirm my findings for me. Here are my specs:
HP Pavillion Motherboard and Ram: a6552f model.
Q6600 2.4GHz Core 2 Quad
550Ti EVGA FPB @ 951MHz
4x1GB DDR2 Ram
250GB HDD, 5400RPM, no SMART errors, good condition
Corsair CX600 v2
So, the issue is while playing Diablo 3 (any any other game, including games like League of Legends where Graphics is very low leveled) I'll have stuttering like a skipping record while playing the game. I know 99.9% this isn't a GPU related issue, because in some areas of the game, it's possible to achieve 60FPS with no stuttering, even when I'm in a graphically intense area. I've turned the settings down, physics down, everything, and I still have the stuttering.
Here is what you can see in the Resource Manager while running Diablo 3.

I'm not sure how threading works, but my really uneducated guess is that the threads are too large, or is trying to switch processes to other cores to compensate, and it's resulting is a pause whenever it does this. I could be completely wrong, and I'm sure I am.
Either way, it seems to be CPU related.
This is an OEM motherboard, so I'm screwed when it comes to Overclocking and upgrading. Any ideas? Or am I just going to have to live with it for a while?
Is there any way to determine for sure if this is a CPU issue?
Thanks for your help.
