I just found something amusing... I followed the link from the MSKB site
regarding the conflict between SP2 and BootSkin. I found this quote on the
BootSkin site:
"Unlike other programs that can change the Windows XP boot screens, BootSkin
does so in a safe manner. <snip>
This has 2 advantages: 1) <snip>
2) There is no risk of having your system unable to boot due to a corrupted
file or after applying a service pack."
No risk? It is pretty much guaranteed. It corrupts the SP2 install process.
I know that MS has no warranties on what 3rd party companies say, I just
find this amusing that MS links to it and would like to share this (in case
someone who has BootSkin sees this before attempting to update to SP2).

The problem with humanity is stupidity. I am not saying it is illegal to be
stupid, but why don't we take safety labels off of everything and let the
problem solve itself?
