Recovery cd

Hello, before I make changes to my system startup I want to be sure I can restore my system. I cannot find any restore cd, so I don't know if I made one at purchase. What can I do?

Windows NT systems - 2000 onwards but not Millenium) have built-in System Restore functionsto take you back to a place in time before you made changes. However, changes you make to StartUp options in System Configuration (msconfig) are unlikely to mess the system up so long as you avoid the manufacturer's utilities. It's best to leave your firewall and AV programme running at StartUp but most other things can go. You can usually get back in under Safe Mode if anything goes seriously wrong.
