Which should I get? Radeon HD 6930 which is priced at $250(It's 200 Euro, not sure but i think it's about $250 lol...) and GTx 560Ti 448 priced at $300
I'll be playing MW3 but I dont know which I should Get... Im getting one by Dec 20 or so
Radeon HD 6930 is said to be an underclocked Radeon HD 6950
GTx 560 Ti 448 is said to be at the performance of the GTx 570 and is 10-20% cheaper in price than 570 as well
Is it worth the extra $50 for 560Ti 448 1.2GB? or is the Radeon HD 6930 2GB is better which is $50 less than 560Ti 448?

If you were going to purchase any cards in this range I would go for a 6950 or the 560ti 448.

@OP
GTX 560ti 448 has a performance gain of 4% over the HD 6950, for the best bang for buck you probably wanna pick the HD 6950
Also the GTX 560ti 448 is no more powerful than the GTX 570, Also tell me your gaming resolution.

1200P requires a decent card with more VRAM, in this case i would recommend getting the HD 6950, and you'd be better of getting a HD 6970.
Also, make sure you have at least 600W quality branded PSU.

If you said i should get a 6970, which should i get? I found a IceQ 6970 2GB which is great... Should I get the IceQ one or other ones?

Which one would you highly recommend and/or get because I just want the Bang for Buck, I always thought(Awhile searching) that the IceQ is overpriced even tho it's a great card by reviews and bench mark... I just want a card that would Game better at around $300, I was thinking about getting 6950 at first for $250 but it seem 6970 is way better BUT is $100 more :/ ....

Both would be fine and play the modern games at ultra settings, even 30 FPS make the game very playable but the chance of maxing out every game with a constant of 60 FPS i highly recommend HD 6970.
I recommend the Sapphire one and the Gigabyte if you're going to be OCing it hard.

also , look for the dual bios switch if possible ..and there is also the option ..some of the saphire 6950's are coming with pre-unlocked shaders ..just flip the dual bios switch , and you basically wind up with an underclocked 6970 , same shaders ..for about $260 ..just another option to look at

Correct me if I'm wrong but it seems all the BIOS switch cards have been taken off all the big websites. I bought these off of newegg about 3 weeks ago but they have been deactivated. Maybe find one on ebay? They were unlockable/had bios switch

For instructions, I used the directions on this website for the 2GB custom 6950, not the reference.

@spagalicious, all the non ref designed cards unlocks only the shaders, you still need to OC it to HD 6970s clocks to get the same perfromance.

@legendkiller
It's another story and sometimes risky, so stick with either HD 6950/70 for depending on your budget.

The Sapphire toxic 6950 comes with a factory installed 6970 bios, all you have to do is flip the bios switch and you will have close to 6970 performance (1536 Shaders instead of a 6950's 1408 Shaders). The reason why this isn't advertised much is because there is no guarantee the extra shaders will work.

The dirt 3 edition unlocks aswell apparently

I Found one video card 6950 from HIS IceQ and it can be unlockable... It has BIOS switch...

When does the 28nm GPU comes out? Im mostly looking to get 28nm GPU but I dont know when it's coming out but i think it's this month But never heard any news about it... Im not going to fail again like I didn't know about these 32nm 2500k and I bought a i7 950 when those already came out like few weeks before...

The ICEQ is not unlockable, and probably the new GPUs will be pushed to 2012.

Id like to point out that toms hardwares 448 was the weakest of all the ones reviewed, checked other sites for 448 reviews before you decide. The only two 448s id recommend are the MSI power edition for the intense OCs people have been able to get (1Ghz on a GF110 chip is crazy). Or if you dont plan to OC too hardcore yourself, the FTW EVGA will be "good enough" mostly cause its the only one that has a "moderate" price for what you get, and has a pretty healthy OC a stock.

The ATI side has been pretty handled already in this thread.

What are the only ones that you guys recommend in the 6950 with 2GB VRAM that is unlockable and can be cooled without overheating or hitting 80*C+?

Depends on your frustration, in short you'll be happy if you buy now and enjoy Xmas with gaming power of HD 6950, get one of what i listed above, pick the cheapest.

Yes.

In case you didn't see it sounds like the 6930 will be sub $200, might be worth a look, you may want to consider a 6870 as well. Personally I sold off my 580 in anticipation of the next gen AMD cards, which I have every intention of buying. A 6870 is doing the job nicely as a placeholder.

BTW, Im considering to get a HD 7950 @ $445... It is said to be released this January but IDK where, when im ganna get it....
December 5, 2011 9:01:07 PM

The 7950's and 7970's will most likely not be released in January, the 7850 and 7870 will more than likely be the first cards out the gate. Even if the 79xx are released in January I would expect extremely anemic quantities, so good luck getting one.

As a side note, I have purchased two of the dirt3 edition 6950 2gb sapphire cards, and both of them unlocked without a problem and are running just fine.

I'll just get the Dirt 3 Edition :/ ... I'll just unlock it than since the 7950 is used(sell) as Christmas gift...
