I'm ordering from ncix and asking them to build it for me.

Approximate Purchase Date: NOW (I want to order this Feb 1)

Budget Range: $1500-1800 Before Rebates

System Usage from Most to Least Important: graphics (cinema 4D, after effects, photoshop, premiere pro)

Parts Not Required: keyboard, mouse, monitor, speakers

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: ncix.com Canada

Country: Canada

Parts Preferences: None

Overclocking: No

SLI or Crossfire: No

Monitor Resolution: 2 monitors, 1920x1200 each

Additional Comments: I'm not doing any gaming on this at all, just rendering 2D and 3D graphics and editing video. I'd much prefer a 3930 but it doesn't look like they'll be available anytime soon.

Amazing - 50+ views and nobody replies? I guess that means there's nothing wrong with my build...

That build looks really good for what you need it to do. X79 would make a lot of sense in a workstation (especially since quad channel RAM will handle the ultra-huge files you'll need with relative ease) but I can totally understand the lack of availability right now. Hopefully that will change once the i7-3820 arrives.

I'll suggest this for your GPU - I know it's quite a bit more for a 560TI but the extra tweaks EVGA provides are well worth it:

Thanks for the suggestions.

windows 7 pro for $1 more - that's an NCIX special based on items in my cart.

The EVGA looks good but I need the dual DVI for my 2 monitors.
