Disk Boot Failure

my computer shows that "disk boot failure,check signal cable"

That means that the computer thinks the problem is the data cable from the drive to the motherboard is bad.

Or:
There is a problem with drive configuration and the BIOS cannot find the boot drive.
There is a problem with the drive itself.

If so, for how long?

Did anything change between the time it was working and now?
