Recently bought another 6850 and when I play BF3 it's a stutter nightmare.

machine specs:

Phenom II 720 @ 3.1
Gigabyte 870 USB3
2x2GB
2 Sapphire 6850

tried drivers 11.11c and 11.11 with no positive results. please help!

what is the minimum cpu should I get for 6850 crossfire?

slhpss: I forgot to say but already tried amd_catalyst_11.11_cap2 with no + results.

coming from 11.11a with same results.

It's already been proven that BattleField 3 runs perfectly fine with a dual core CPU. It's definitely driver related.

testing @ 3.2Ghz on High settings, it's playable, something choppy. when I set on Ultra it gets bsod. my 720 had a bad 4th core so can't unlock it.
so for now pro-gamer have the word.

don't have another game to test :??:

dunno what I do really but, after install, reinstall and re-reinstall drivers it is working fine with latest amd_catalyst_11.11c_windows_vista_7.
got to go back on 3.1Ghz, on 3.2Ghz it gets laggy (stock voltage). on Ultra settings works about 60fps but not smooth like I wish, on High settings gets 60-80fps, smooth but not smooth like nvidia cards (have GTX 460 and 560 Ti in the past). My idea with this crossfire was play BF3 on Ultra but it is not enough for it. I will play on High settings, after all to play on High I think with one 6950 or GTX 560 Ti 448 or GTX 570 is enough.

Thanks all for the replies and help. :)
