I don't know all that much about the SOCKET 2011 build, but as for the second build.

In short, Yes everything is compatible, however.... I think the build needs some work in order to get best price vs performance. There's some big over-spending going on with some components.

Be aware that with a H67 motherboard, you won't be able to OC that i5-2500k. Buying a P67 or Z68 board would be recommended. OR, simply save a few $$/££ and get a non-K series i5.

Unless you seriously increase the amount spent on the motherboard for something with an NF200 chip allowing 3-way SLI/CF, you certainly don't need a 1000w PSU with CF6950's, 750w would be enough, 850w MORE than enough.

RAM - Not sure what speed RAM your looking at, but SandyBridge doesn't mix well will 1600MHz RAM at 1.65v (Kingston HyperX) - look for 1.5v 1600MHz RAM if this is what your aiming for. G.SKill and Corsair are popular choices.

Full Size ATX is also probably a waste for that build, however its obviously down to preference.

Having a look over the first build, I might be wrong, but from what I can tell the motherboard is an ATX not E-ATX. Not sure if it even supports more than 2 GPU's in SLI?

Even if it does support Tri-fire with 7970's, i'm almost positive you'll have no space on the motherboard to fit the sound card in as well as 3 GPU's.....?

1000w PSU might also be pushing it with 3 cards, id be looking maybe closer to 1200w. And certainly a GOLD rated 80PLUS unit with what it's being expected to run.
