How is your mother different to the one I choose? I already have a 300GB hard drive, but it’s about four years old, not sure how much longer it can hold out. I could make due with a smaller hardrive to fit the budget.

The board you chose doesn't allow crossfire/sli, the board he chose does, and it's cheaper. It's also pci-e 3.0 ready, japanese gold caps, and 8+4 vrm.

You don't want a 5400rpm hd, you want a 7200rpm drive. I feel for you, the hd prices are outrageous, I bought a 1TB 7200rpm drive for $59 a few months ago, glad I didn't wait.

Umm...because 7200rpm is faster than 5400rpm........that's why.

I'm not going to specifically find you a drive, I was giving you a good recommendation, take it or leave it. Gaming machine and 5400rpm hd do not go together. Just like Cadillac CTS-V and infant car seat do not go together.

okay. I usually ignore 7200prm drives. I didn't think the difference in speed was was enough to justify the price. I think I'll just hold onto my current hard drives and wait for prices to drop again.
