2 Sticks of 4GB RAM or 1 Stick of 8GB RAM?

Which is better or does it not make a difference. Also please explain.

Depends on usage. 2x4 is generally a better idea, due to price. 8GB sticks cost quite a bit and are really only used in server environments.

Yes 2X4 sticks will work fine. i would rather use a dual channel kit than 1 stick of 8.

it always used to be the case that 2 is better. 1 stick is expensive (although maybe not double) and 2 sticks are reported to offer marginal improvements in performance.
