Hello, I am currently needing to update my graphics card to meet the minimum Diablo 3 system requirements. Here is what I have:

Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
OS: HP Pavilion dv6 notebook pc
BIOS: Default System BIOS
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i3 CPU M 330@2.13GHz (4CPUs),~2.1GHz
Memory: 4096 MB RAM

Minimum requirements are:
Windows® XP/Vista/7 (latest service packs) with DX 9.0c
Intel Pentium® D 2.8 GHz or AMD Athlon™ 64 X2 4400+
NVIDIA® GeForce® 7800 GT or ATI Radeon™ X1950 Pro or better
1 GB RAM (XP), 1.5 GB (Vista/7)

Basically, i'm very ignorant when it comes to computers. If i buy an NVIDIA GeForce 7800 GT, do i need to buy the Intel Pentium D 2.8 GHz processor to go with it or is my old processor good enough? Thanks for any help! Just to emphasize, I'M AN IDIOT so please use language i'll understand :p

I'm afraid you can't do what you're talking about, no. Laptop's are usually not very upgradable anyway, but you definitely can't put desktop parts in them.

As far as whether or not that laptop will play D3, I doubt it. It MAY actually run it, but it wouldn't be worth it.
