Am using my Canon with the included Remote Capture software with good
results. Have pretty much total control over camera with just a USB
cable connection.

However would like to use this software outside near my bird feeder to
get close ups of the birds.

Question:
What would I need to replace the USB cable with a wireless connection?
That is plug some kind of transciever into camera USB port and one
into computer UBS port and get rid of cable? 50-100 range would be
nice.

Thanks
Beowulf

P.S did I mention it should be cheap?

Cheap, easy, powerful - choose any two.

There are both wired and wireless USB extenders available...

See http://www.vpi.us/usbc5-o.html - $99 + some CAT5 cable = approx
$110

Wired is always going to be cheaper than wireless...

WEll, not if you have to go 50 feet, but the only way to get there is
through walls, or other architectural features, such as stone work, or
carvings, or... you get the idea. Sometimes wireless is the cheapest,
but not often.

Thanks for these links they helped a lot. Still not sure what I'm
going to do.

I am surprised that a consumer level wireless USB system has not yet
been developed. Considering I'm using a couple of $14 wireless usb lan
adaptors between the barn and the house (about 90 feet) and a 9 buck
wireless phone from Walmart also between the barn and house you
wouldn't think it would be such a big deal.
