Hello, I was just wondering if 2 gtx 560 oc's on sli would max out the vram on 1080p with ultra settings on battlefield 3?

I haven't ever heard that BF3 would require more than 1GB of vram at 1080p. If you want to be sure, google is your friend.

Short answer would be yes (if you have standard 1 GB cards and not the 2GB model, remember that SLI does not double up the ram, both cards are loaded with the same info).

At 1080p on ultra settings BF3 uses around 1.4 GB of vram.

They most certainly do not perform poorly, but all of the vram is used, and some shared system ram if you have ultra textures enabled (Designed for 1.5gb vram) I run at 1920x1080 with everything maxed out excluding deferred AA. My framerate is usually between 60 and 120 with vsync on. I have experienced some stuttering from time to time which i haven't been able to reliably determine the cause. But it may just be driver/server related, as i have played with all of the settings to try and eliminate them, but nothing seems to do it short of a reboot. But when everything works as it should it's glorious.

On that note, the 2gb cards will do more for future proofing as it will allow for game growth involving higher res textures and monitors.

Splendid
BF3 uses alot of vram more than 1gb thats for sure , a lot of owners of these cards can experience stuttering and some freezing due to the vram being exceeded. Best to get a 2gb version of the 560ti for BF3 or even the 560ti 448, but even then the 1.2 gb of vram that it has still gets exceeded but it definately performs better.
