I'm new to building so I don't know if there's anything that you would suggest I swap out considering everything else I'm buying. Also, I don't have any idea what monitor I should go for.

Is there anything unnecessary/necessary that I might be missing?

I would swap out the processor for a Core i3-2100 and a low cost ASUS Z68 motherboard as a better upgrade path. The i3 is just as fast at stock speed for gaming. I would also bump up to 8gb ram and get 64 bit Windows 7 to go along with it.

Other than that it looks good to me. Excellent PSU choice.

Its a good build. Change the motherboard with this ASRock 970 EXTREME3 AM3+ http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168... and like @tlmck said buy 8GB RAM and WIN 7 64bit.
Some good monitors :
Acer S220HQLAbd Black 21.5" 5ms LED Backlight http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168... 130$
Asus VE228H 21.5" Full HD HDMI LED BackLight http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168... 145$

Looks good, but change the MB to ASRock Z68 PRO3 GEN3. It has a 3.0x16 slot which you can upgrade in the future easier. Other than that your good.
