This is the MoveOn.org website that is going to be putting out a bunch of anti-Bush commercials for this election season. 15 finalist have been selected out of hundreds of submitions. For those of you who already dislike Bush, I'm sure you'll find it interesting how many people agree with you. And for those who think Bush is second only to Jesus, maybe this will give you some more insight into just what he has been doing to our country.

I really like "In My Country," "Polygraph," "Imagine," and "Desktop."

Michael Moore is a judge. He is such a reasonable man that we should all really be comfortable with whatever judgement he passes.

yes, he is somewhat extreme in his comparisons. but in a country of blind followers, sometimes you have to include a little "shock value" to arouse their mass-mediaistic attention

I agree, but I keep putting down his books in disbelief. He goes too far and everything is a conspiracy to him. He's too far left. Way too far. I'm not stupid and I shouldn't be treated as such. Everything has a negative conclusion and interpretation. He likes to infer things that make the far left happy while leaving everyone else wondering why he can't be even a sliver moderate.

I think the X-files should have had him write some episodes.

well yes. totally.

north americans as a whole are really stupid people. no, actually extrememly stupid. i see it everyday. its how our society runs.

one on one, we are ok. if you sit down and talk with most people, they seem decent, somewhat intelligent, kind of in touch with reality

but the the problem is we dont know even 10% of what goes on in our governments....

but yea. i agree with you

before, he had some interesting and informative information. he tried to get people to see past CNN, to realize how we blind faith is leading us to the wrong road (which it is)

its kind of ironic because now hes nothing more than what he used to criticize

Actually internet junkies like us tend to be well informed. I know students at the Uni that are totally oblivious to anything except the leftist trash their professors are force feeding them and the rightist trash the bush administration slips in.

The fact that these are in Quick Time format proves they aren't worth watching, as Apple is the platform of choice for the leftist propoganda machine.

They might be humorous but not worth my time considering the download time of the latest Quicktime player.

Who's looking out for the poor, the common man? Certainly not site that require broadband!

i agree internet surfers are somewhat more informed.

but then again its down to the person to choose what info they read or not so really if you start off left wing and go research on the net you will remain left wing and vice-versa.

as for dhlucke's mike moore coments, yeah i agree he is way far left wing.

however he needs to be extreme to be listened too, the moderate people get treampeled by the media because they don't have the same convictions that Mike has.

i also think George Bush is about as right wing as mike is left wing. so i think there is a balence.

BTW mike moore is an entertainer and activist, he doesn't claim to be anything more

Hey, I have deep convictions:

1.) I'd rather seen 100 capital punishment activist killed than 1 innocent man who was wrongly convicted
2.) I'd rather see 100 abortion rights activist killed than one baby.

See, you can support neither the right nor left and still have deep convictions!

You obviously don't know much about American politics if you think Bush is as right as Moore is left. Man there are some fruit loops out there on the right.

Amplify the power and influence that Bush's right-ward leanings have and you would have a disparity favouring the administration.

Bush is not the man he portrayed himself to be in the last election. A divider not a uniter would be more accurate. Micheal Moore is Far left leaning but I don't remember him ever professing to be something other than a 'liberal' activist. Since Roger & Me I doubt anyone has confused his views or positions. However Bush sold Americans a persona that was quickly abadoned once in power.

I'd say comparing the two isn't fair because Micheal Moore hasn't had the exposure, the power, the influence nor the 'change of heart' that Bush has.
Sure there's wackos out there like Buchanan (and he's mild compared to some right-wingnutz), and people in between bush and Pat, like Limbaugh, but so what? Bush has his mouthpieces and supporters too. The differenece is that people are entertained by the likes of Micheal Moore even if they don't share his views; those who listen to Rush and his ilk, they're simply looking for someone with whom they can say "yeah, he thinks what I think, we know what's right!" The number of truely funny and entertaining right wingers is limited, there's just the occasional flash from people like Dennis Miller, who's not quite right of the right. More often than not the right wingers are more coarse than creative.

Bush may not be as far from center as Moore, but he's still far closer to that periphery than the centre.

Personally I think America's screwed, the choices in '04 suck all around. Here's to hoping someone breaks ranks and creates a true 3rd party worth voting for (no Ralph, the Greens aren't a viable solution yet).
"None Of The Above" seems like a very wise choice at this point in time.

no i don't claim to know anything about american politics.

however i claim to know a damn fair shair of international politics. of which in international views Bush is as right wing as they get.

perhaps within your country bush is not as right wing as possible, but then again i have seen left wing people who are more left than mike moore.

the difference is that bush is in power and is in the current workd stage one of the farthest right leaders of ANY democratically elected countrys. where as mike moore is an entertainer and refuses to become a politician

BTW i have watched Mike moores comedy since long before it was ever very main stream

documentarys on flint and GM and such.

i take some facts from his work, but really its mainly a bit of entertainment

i really believe bush is not the one calling the shots but simply a frontman for a much more powerful group of people. you know why they couldn't run dick chenney for president... because he would never get elected not in a million years because he is [-peep-] scary, but someone like bush is electable so he gets elected.

bush claimed to be a compassionate conservative which is someone who says excuse me as they are stepping over a homeless person.

bush also claimed to be a united not a divider and has done completely the opposite.

he claimed that government should be small not large and has expanded the size of the government more so than any other president in history.

he is the first president to pre-emptively attack a country based upon circumstancial evidence at best, more like circumspect information, half truths and outright lies.

no administration has done more to damage the environment, violate the civil rights of the people who live in this country, piss more countries off at us, illegally hold hundreds of people captive with no access to lawyers and the judicial system and with out cause. this administration has also given uber tax breaks to the uber rich, has attempted to gut the unions in favor of big business, gave no bid contracts to companies with close ties to this administration including halburton, formerly run by dick chenney

See, the funny thing about that ad is that before it mentions Saddam, it sure and hell sounds like a speach from Hitler rather than an American president. However, I'm sure that the intent of the commercial was not to make a direct comparison of Bush to Hitler. Most likely it was just meant as a shock to get people to really think that everything your leader says isn't true, and should be scrutinized.

You realize that there were two Hitler entries and that moveon appologized for both and said that they weren't supposed to get through their screening process.

I bet the only reason MoveOn apologized was because they were getting duff for displaying them. I bet if Bush had his way he would shut that site down for the thought of him and Hitler in the same ad.

I personally liked the ads. I do not at all think they were actually comparing Hitler and Bush as men, but rather comparing the rhetorics of the two. Everyone in Germany loved Hitler because he promised security, wealth, and denounced everyone who was against them. Bush is doing the same thing, and so many people love him for it. Those ads just are meant to make people think that everything Bush says may not be for the best.

The point is that ur an unpatriotic idiot poo-poo head if you don't support the president.

Obviously, and I quote(guess who), some people have too much freedom.

Not really. Joerg Haider would deifinitely be right of Bush, although he's no longer in power.

There is still a bit of the spectrum left. Even Putin would be right of Bush IMO.

Oh, Really? Where, at the Flint YMCA?

Roger & Me (that documentary you refer to) vaulted him into the main stream from nothingness, so there wasn't much before that and definitely nothing 'long before' that.

well rememebr i live in NZ and nobody knew about mike moore untill after the awfull truth came out as a tv series.... and even then it was onyl a few people then bowling for colubine made him a household name.

the thing is at 2-4am i had seen about 3 of his documentarys years before the awfull truth came out here.

they have only jsut started playing the awfull truth and all of his other documenatrys on our tv again, but previously they were spread out and only in the middle of the night. now they are in prime time tv viewing times ;) so i guess he is pretty main stream over here now
