Display on DVI, but not with VGA

I have a TV with a VGA input and a regular PC Monitor.
When I plug the monitor in to the VGA port on my Graphics Card (PNY GeForce 6200), I get a display with no problems. But, when I try to plug my TV in to the VGA port, I dont get a display. The resolution is at 1024x768. The TV and Monitor work when plugged in to the DVI port, using a DVi to VGA converter.

Why wont my TV work when plugged into my VGA port?

Have you selected VGA option on your TV?

Yes, under the source selection list, I choose PC-VGA. VGA is the only PC input for my TV.

Is the vga cable of good quality?

Yes it works brilliantly when I use the DVI-VGA converter, and when I use it for my laptop.

I think you've misunderstood. It wont work with VGA, but it will work with DVI using a DVI-VGA adapter.

Why do you need/want to connect it through VGA?
