Netgear pc card and mifi 4g verizon wireless

Hello,
i have an old laptop (7) with an external netgear wireless card that recognizes the verizon wireless but won't connect to it. any suggestions? after 2 hours with verizon they suggested i contact netgear, i got "peggy" from tv commercial who wanted 100.00 up front for assistance.

what is the model network card?

if it is really old, it might only support WEP.
