does your motherboard actually support ivy bridge?

some need a bios update even though its the same socket as sandybridge

what is the north bridge of your board. ie.. a z68, p67, z77 etc? as stated about the older gen ?67,68 boards most require bios updates if the manufacturer decided to support ivy bridge with that board. the newer gen ?77 should support ivy bridge out of the box.
