Your system support an HD 4650, but it needs a 400 Watt or greater power supply, so your PSU won´t be able to handle it.

bro tell me is there any source that i can add up to provide it the required supply???? i dnt want to change my ups cz i v jst purchased the desktop,,, and if ur answer is no ,, then which graphics card i should go for whic can work with 250-300 vas power supply nd should b a budgeted gpu just like 4650

You have a quite good cpu in your system. If I was you I´ll get a Radeon HD 5670 for around US$ 70 http://stores.tomshardware.com/sea [...] by=priceA/

Anyway, you will need a 400W PSU for the HD 4650 or the HD 4670. That would cost you around US$45 COOLER MASTER GX 450W http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6817171060

It depends on the quality of the psu and the amps on the +12v. A good 300w can run a 5770 with a c2d. The 4650 uses about ~38w so you should have no issue even on a mediocre 300w psu. The 5670 uses about ~64w which should also be fine on a medicore 300w psu but would be the highest I would say to go.

A ups is not a psu, the psu has actual connections to the components inside you pc, a ups is just a backup battery.

That is an estimate and covers bad psus that can't supply their actual power rating. If you take his actual specs into account he doesn't need 400w. A good 400w can power a 6850 on his specs. Repeating yourself 3 times doesn't change the facts.

It's kind of hard to help when you can't give more info especially when I specifically ask. You'll be fine with the 4650. ~38w for the 4650, 65w for the cpu, and say 50w for other components, you have enough safe headroom even on a bad psu. Here's proof. http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews [...] OC/24.html

38w for the 4650?

According to the link you provided things goes like that:

Idle 86W
Average 139W
Peak 148W

Reply to jemm

That's total system power consumption.

If I understood your math correctly, then the total system power consumption at peak time would be 148W? If so, then one should infer that 250W is more than enough, considering the total system power consumption at peak time is just 148W, is that correct?

6570 GDDR5 Should be good checking by this http://www.tomshardware.com/review [...] 5-15.html. It also shows that you only need 200W PSU. But I don't know of that PSU. And I don't own or have one, so you might try on your own.

6750 is not in my budget i guess,, i hav only 2 options i.e 4650 and 5570,, plzzz pick one f em

Reply to shaby9

5570. AMD says 39w on their site. http://www.amd.com/us/products/des [...] rview.aspx But other places have said 43-50w. http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews [...] 70/28.html
http://forums.atomicmpc.com.au/index.php?showtopic=264 Probably differences from testing off the wall with different psu efficiencies.
