Hi there! Welcome to the forums.
-First things first, your CPU is FM1 and your mobo is AM3. Those will not work together.
Second, I would check out an Intel G860 as opposed to an AMD build. According to tom's* the Pentium G860 performs a fair bit better than any of the athlon's for less money. I've made a build with this in mind below.

CPU: Intel G860 $100
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] ium%20g860
Mobo: Asrock H67 $80
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6813157233
RAM: Patriot 2x4GB 1600MHz $42
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6820220570
GPU: AMD 6870 1GB $160
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6814131378
PSU: Corsair CX 430 V2 $45
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6817139026

Toss in your selected case, you're good to go!

You are missing RAM , and there are a couple of odd selections IMO.

The case is white , but the dvd drive is black . There should be beige or silver dvd drives available that would look better .

The power supply is expensive and more powerful than you need too

And the motherboard cant run future processors from AMD so it may be worth spending a little more on an AM3+ motherboard

Consider this case + PSU combo for $70 . Its discounted because they have just updated the case , but this is an excellent deal and the case cools really well
Antec Three Hundred + BP430
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6811129065
And the color would match your monitor

CORSAIR Vengeance 4GB (2 x 2GB]
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6820233195

This mb is fully AM3+
ASUS M5A97 AM3+ AMD 970 $95
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6813131767

The savings on the case/psu should let you get either a Phenom 960t or FX 4100 processor
[ well spotted that it was fm1 Striker]

Why would you need to upgrade?

Reply to striker410

adding surrond sound possibly, additional monitor, sound card etc possiblities

Reply to chosen12k6

also for $100 for the intel g860 should i just spend a little more and get the i3

Reply to chosen12k6

None of those things draw on the PSU. The sound card might pull a watt or two, not enough to matter.

If you'd like. It's $25 more but you get a decent amount more performance.

I just recently saw an i3 2100 for like 99$, but now i can;t remember where... :/

2100 $120 at amazon
http://www.amazon.com/Intel-i3-210 [...] 741&sr=8-1

10$ more for a 2120
http://www.amazon.com/Intel-i3-212 [...] ewpoints=1

Reply to cpitts1

The thing about the i3 is that the phenom 955 spanked it in last years $500 system builder marathons everywhere but gaming . In games it needed a bit of OCing on the stock cooler and then the phenom was a stronger cpu there as well .

The 960T I mentioned in my first post is the same architecture as the phenom and should OC to a higher level than a phenom X4 meaning it to will spank the i3 too.
It might even unlock to be a 6 core processor

And you'd have a system you could upgrade

^Very true. All depends on what the OP plans to do with the system.

Reply to striker410

changed my build completely tell me what you think and im not familiar at the moment with OCing better yet all i know is to go into the bios head to the correct option and change the numerical variables other than that i dont know anything else... for now i will probly update to the i5 2400 since it is only 20 bucks more than the i3 will post my new build in a moment

I wouldn't suggest going that route. The 6870 is Substantially better than the 6770. I would'nt recommend going with that.

ok hopefully its in my price range thanks again man for the help

Reply to chosen12k6

Striker is the grouping not good or just the graph card also im trying to stay within a certain budget thanks again

Reply to chosen12k6

I would not go with the fx-4100 >_< The fx chips really are not performing up to what they should have. I'd listen to Outlander_04 and get the 960T over that one you'd have a much better build that way.

^second, the 960t would be much better for you than a 4100

Reply to cpitts1

Hopefully this one gets the approval so that i can buy, checking for compatiblity and best bang for my dollar, gpu i cannot change because its and extra 10 bucks and my wife wont allow it :D Thanks again

It'll do. I would really, really advise trying to get at least the 6850. If you can't, maybe drop to a tri-core. I really would suggest getting at least a 6850.
