Hi Folks,

I've been breaking my brain over this issue for some time so please bare with me. First, here are the specs for the machine I'm using:
MOBO: ASUS P8Z68-V Pro (B3)
CPU: Intel i7 2600k
RAM: Corsair Vengenace 8gb DDR3 1866mhz - CMZ8GX3M2A1866C9 (2 sticks of 4gb)
HDD: OCZ Solid 3 120gb - SLD3-25SAT3-120G
PSU: OCZ 550W Power Supply - OCZ-ZS550W
CPU Cooler: CWCH100
Graphics: XFX AMD Radeon HD 6870 (HD687AZHFC) 1024MB PCIe

The system is not currently overclocked except for the stock turbo boost and is liquid cooled. So here's the problem. Every so often I get a random video freeze. The freeze is very short, lasting at most 4-5secs and strangely, if music is was playing at the time the freeze hit, it is not interrupted like video. Same goes for keyboard input, if I was in the middle of typing when the freeze occured, it will dump everything I typed while it was frozen onto the screen. This doesn't happen in connection with any particular application (that I know of) running at the time. Does anyone have an idea as to what could be causing this very strange video hang?

Alright, so I tried doing a memory test and everything looks great. Checked on various CPU/GPU, MOBO temps and not only isn't running well, but it seems to run rather cool (23C roughly).
I haven't tried running with 1 dimm of RAM as it turned out OK and I'm not entirely sure how to run without GPU.
Anything else I could try?

Maybe something wrong with the video card. Try using the built in video on the CPU. Detach the Video card first.
