Will a am3 socket work with a am2+processor

i have an am3 socket and i wanna get a nice am2+ processor but would it work/fit or should i save up and just get an am3 one?

generally speaking AM2+ donot work in am3 boards because am2 processors dont support DDR3 ram with is the standard on most am3 boards.

No, just get an AM3 Processor please :)  Many are good such as X4 965 BE.

So you have an Athlon II X2 250 which is a AM3 CPU!
You want to replace it with an Athlon II X4 645 which is as well a AM3 CPU!
In most cases that will work but there are some boards out there that have a wattage limit on the CPU so without knowing what board you are using I can not say 100% but very likely since the X4 is only 95 watt TDP!
Really do not understand why you are bringing the AM2+ socket into this discussion.
