So I just got my new motherboard and ram now I have to buy a CPU to go with it.

I have an intel dp67de micro-atx P67 motherboard. It will support Ivy bridge CPU's. I am trying to make the new PC and quiet as possible (not going for silent). I am torn between the following CPU's and would like an opinion.

Option #1
i5-3450s

or

Option #2
i7-3770s

I use the system mainly for day to day stuff like internet, e-mail, reading forums. I also play a few games currently WoW and diablo III. I also have a 60gig SSD and a Raptor 36gig that I am going to put in here already. Which CPU of those two would you go with????

Given what you do, I would save the $ and grab the 3450s. It is plenty fast, and you have no real use for hyper-threading with what you have listed as the tasks. I would spend the extra $100 on an additional, much larger storage drive. The 60GB will work great as a boot drive, but if you are only using it with the 36GB raptor, you may find yourself short on storage space rather quickly.

The S version is the low power version and I am hoping to keep the system pretty quiet. I have an aftermarket cooler that I am going to use with it that has a PWM 120mm fan on it. The system is being put into a micro atx (lian-li pc-c50b) case as well so I know once I put in a nice aftermarket graphics card that heat might become an issue.

I am only putting WoW, addon's for WoW, and ventrilo on the Raptor.

There will be a third drive in the 1-2tb range for genral storage
