Gainward GTX580 1.5mb loud fans

Hey another question for you guys.

I have recently relaced my asus geforce 580 directcu2 for a gainward gtx580 wth the two fans due to a RMA situation.

The gainward works really well but the fans are so loud and they seem to run at about 70% during games (more specifically magi the gathering duals of the planewalkers 2012 which isnt exacly graphically demanding) the temps rarly go as high as 70c.

So is this normal fan speed and noise for this card?

It is the factory preset. You can tweak the fan setings with MSI Afterburner software (runs on all NVidia cards that I know of, and AMD too). If you do not have the fan controller plugged into a mobo header (usually you can control the fans plugged into mobo headers with other software) MSI Afterburner will allow you to change your fan(s) speed. Also, you can tweak the settings on the GPU to OC it as well. But that is another matter.

Ah ok well i probably wont tweak it I just wanted to know its normal as i was concerned it was broken lol

Hi flanando, i signed up to discuss this issue. I have exactly the same card, and it spins to the highest rpm possible when running Magic 2012. Any more info from your end? cheers
