If you had to choose between these two, which one would you get? The difference is ~$30 more for the HD6950 where I live (Brazil).
The DirectCU card is supposedly very quiet (and I love quiet computers), but the extra performance of the HD6950 is tempting.

I only care for silence @ idle, is it worth sacrificing a bit of performance and getting the DirectCU card?

Even stock GPU fans aren't loud at idle. The cards downclock at idle so they use less power and therefore stay cooler. Just make sure you have good airflow in your case. If you can afford it, go with the 6950.

Yeah I know, but still depending on the cooler there could be a bit of a difference, even @ idle...
