Hi I bought a Diamond 5970 from newegg over thanksgiving, and I installed it into my computer, everything works. However, I believe that i'm not using all the video cards I have. My FPS in skyrim has gone down, and I installed GPU-Z and it said 1 was enabled 3 video cards and the rest were disabled. My second video card is a 5870 I believe diamond also (2gb) edition.

Here are the pictures

Thank you ~ Z

You can, but you won't see improvement with Skyrim.

As it stands, only the lastest beta drivers will allow for crossfire in Skyrim. CCC 11.11c if I'm not mistaken.

Also, Skyrim's performance is heavily dependent on your CPU, rather than the GPU. With that much horsepower, you won't likely see an improvement even with the beta drivers, unless you use eyefinity or something super high res.

Thank you, but my concern is it working properly, because if it is not then I need to fix it.

And thank you for clearing up the skyrim thing.

Try some benchmarking software

3d Mark 11

Skyrim is a VERY bad example of Xfire.

Sorry but right now crossfire works on the 6xxx cards on skyrim with the latest drivers, but those of us with slightly older 5xxx cards need to wait a little while.

Gpu-Z for some odd reason, only shows the master GPU as Crossfire enabled when you run crossfire. It didn't used to do this, but it has for a few months now.

With the system in my signature, with a single 6970 a little overclocked, I would about 5k. With 2 of them, I would get 9.5k.

Your 5870 is clearly getting some boost from crossfire. I'm unsure if you are gaining trifire benefits by that score, as I don't know what 5870's normally get in crossfire, but the full read out clearly recognizes you running in crossfireX with 3 GPU's.

Edit: with further examination, I'm certain it's working as your Graphics score is at 108xx. With two overclocked 6970's, I saw about 10k even.
