So I have been wondering this for some time now, is is possible to make a device or write software for a computer to pick up some of the major cell phone carryers (att, verizon, cellular south, sprint etc...) 3g/4g? Yes I know it would be stealing thats why I am just asking if if theory, like if in all reality it is possible to do that. And if you could would'nt the carries want to protect their internet better? Or do they already have an "anti theft" system already? Thanks for your future comments!

Of course it's easy, buy a phone, and there you go. Why re-build the device. What you are looking for if there are ways to stick unauthorized devices into their network, it's possible, but it will be locked down soon as they audit the connections. I believe the encryption was already broken for 3G.
