TigerDirect doesn't charge taxes since I live in CA., but I was wondering if anyone have any other opinions about TigerDirect.

TigerDirect is a great place to get your computer components, however, most people in the US use NewEgg as the website of choice for computer parts due to the fact that it is the 2nd largest online only retailer. I've had great experiences with Tigerdirect and am very satisfied with their service. I do, however, do not like their website, the components are not as organized as those of NewEgg's.

Agree with Roaring Dragon. Only thing to add is the bundle deals on tigerdirect are usually better priced than those on newegg (like cpu/mb/ram) combos. I enjoy browsing the egg's site better though.

I would use a combination of them both if building.. as Tiger is mostly free shipping and Newegg is hit and miss. Newegg does seem to have a lot more assortment, and has quality 'generic' items under the Rosewill name.

@tigerb2b - surprised you posted, nice offering. I totally agree that you guys MUST improve your website and make it uncluttered, easier to read. I do like your 'Guided Search' but tossing in (4) side columns unnecessarily cheapens up the site; I fell like I'm looking at the 'Penny Saver' newspaper. NewEgg makes it easy to link in Forums.

Example of Compare:
TigerDirect - http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/category/compar...
NewEgg - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Productcompare.aspx?Submi...

On TigerDirect the compare is meaningless and broken outside of the localized cookie.

IMO - I'd spend $200K~$300K+ revamping your site, your sales will skyrocket and the volume will allow for better pricing.

I could go on and on...the sad reality is TigerDirect is a very good company, but with antiqued tools.

** I think that comment is a little unfair. The November 2012 issue of CONSUMER REPORTS ranks the TigerDirect.com web site as no worse than #14 in it's "Best Shopping Website" rankings. That's based on tens of thousands of feedback scores submitted directly to Consumer Reports by it's subscribers.

What's 'unfair'?

ResellerRattings.com comparision:
http://www.resellerratings.com/store/Newegg
http://www.resellerratings.com/store/Tiger_Direct

We shop, my wife and myself, in order: HSN, Amazon and NewEgg as far a gross number of orders. The problem with TigerDirect is first its' prices are often higher, their return/exchange policies aren't the best and their website still needs improvements. Simple, fix those (3) very important issues and TigerDirect (Systemax) will greatly improve its business.

Hi Everyone,

I am totally new to building a pc but have learned a lot on these boards thanks. I found Dennis on the board and was able to work with him to build a super affordable PC. I highly recommend reaching out to him if you want some personal attention. He was very patient with me and my questions and we finally got a system that I believe meets my needs with some future upside (case with 3.0 and a good power supply both with lifetime warranties. I went with Phenom X4 bundle and swapped a couple things out.). Reach out to him, can't hurt.

Just want to give a 5 star rating to Dennis and his help.
