Advice on new system

I am resubmitting this question as my original one was moved and I can't find it to see if anyone has offered advice, so appologies to anyone who has tried to help.

We are looking to buy a new desktop system as the one we have appears to be running out of grunt and is 4 years old.

Our current system is: Intel Core2 Quad Q6600 @ 2.4 GHZ
Nvidia NX8800GT
4 gig RAM
Windows Vista (32 bit)

The computer is used almost constantly; for web browsing, playing 3D games, watching TV, playing our music, and detailed photo editing using Corel Paintshop Pro X4.

We are starting to get crashes and freezes, especially when using Corel, so we thought a new system was called for, so we are open to sugestions as money is tight and we can't afford to just go out and buy a high end system. We also like to get information from people who know more about the technology before we make these sort of decisions and part with our cash.

Please help

Well everything mostly depends on your budget.
Also what games exactly because something like battlefield will require a lot more power.

It would be much easier to make suggestions if you go into more detail on what you want to use your computer for, what games would you be playing?

Well, the budget is about $800 Aus, and the games are things like Starcraft II, Heroes VI, and Warhammer.
