Your question

Which PSU do I need?

My specs are:

Gigabyte 2GB GTX 670
Intel i7 3770k
Noctua NH-D14
Lexa S Case (with 4 built in 120mm fans)
Gigabyte GA-Z77-D3H Motherboard
WD 1TB 7200 SATA 3 HDD
Sata DVD Drive

I used a 650W TX V2 corsair. The fuse blew, so I'm assuming it wasn't powerful enough for my machine.
Could anyone recommend me a certain brand/wattage PSU?

(I am buying from ebuyer.com) :)

Cheers!

Corsair TX650 v2 should have been quite sufficient for your rig.

Is it under warranty? get it replaced.

Hmm cause my mum took it to PC world, and this guy (who has his own business and is a friend of mum - so diagnosis was free) said that I needed a more powerful PSU? o.O

I am sending it back to ebuyer today. Should I go for a 800W-850W just to be safe?

I'm with bartholomew.
The TX650 v2 is plenty of power over and above what your rig requires.

I think the fuse might have blown in your PSU due to a power surge / power spike and the fuse blowing probably saved your more expensive hardware from damage.

Nvidia recommendation for a system like yours with a GTX 670 graphics card:

-> 500 W PSU and 2x 6pin PCI-e power connectors.

650w is in the just to be safe range. your mum's friend is either clue less or trying to get you to spend more money. the others are right, the corsair 650w is plenty of power for a single GTX670. your total system power won't break 350w during gaming.

I see, so would you recommend me ordering another Corsair 650W PSU? (the same one again, basically)

Hmmm, could you explain to me what a power surge/spike actually is?

I do believe you are correct, my components don't really pass even 550W, so 650W is more than enough.

Also, do you still recommend me buying the same PSU?

Unless you've already done it....you don't need to buy anything except a fuse to replace the one that blew.

I sent it back. I shall order the same one, and hopefully this time it doesn't break xD

I like the Corsair TX 650 V2 a lot. I think it's a very good bet and the one you had saved your computer parts from damage.

Hmmm, if I left my PSU and my mains on, and I unplugged my mains to psu lead. Then I plugged it back in, would that have caused a powr surge?

Yeah, that was my initial thought. The TX 650 V2 is a solid unit.

nVidia recommends a 500 watt PSU for the 670 ..... Adding a second would push you to 750 territory, 850 if you go wild on the CPU / GPU OC's.

http://www.geforce.com/hardware/desktop-gpus/geforce-gt...

The TX series is their 2nd tier line ..... HX has the best specs, AX is more efficient but bit more noise and little less voltage stability.
