Questions...

1. Will this setup give me 60fps while playing ultra or high on bf3 or swtor?
2. How long will this last me on games Becuase I don't wanna buy stuff every 6 months?

Thanks.
Please check if everything fits.

I don't think you will get this high with that build. But you could probably get at least 45.

It should last you at least a year or two before upgrading.

Try this build - it's $70 more but will last way longer than the build you have with a way better motherboard, slightly better CPU, way better case. The GPU isn't as good as the 560 but it's a more well rounded system.

Case: Cooler Master HAF 912 - $59.99
PSU: Corsair CX600 - $69.99
Motherboard: Asrock Z68 Extreme 3 Gen 3 - $121.99
CPU: 3.3GHz Intel Core i3-2120 - $119.99
RAM: Kingston Hyper X Red 1600MHz 1.5V - $44.99
HD: Western Digital Caviar Blue 500GB - $89.99
Optical: Lite On DVD Burner - $17.99
Video Card: Sapphire Radeon HD 6850 - $149.99

Total; $674.99

Most GPUs are already OC'd to begin with. At most you'll be able to get about 45FPS but in the long run you really won't notice an extra +-10FPS. I know BF3 is a hugely resource-intensive game but even the 6850 will get the job done. The 560 is ideal but you have to sacrifice a bit of hardware and upgrade ability in the long run in order to get it.

I don't know - I haven't played SWTOR but if it can run BF3 on high it should run SWTOR on high with no problems. I doubt you'd be able to achieve ultra settings but then again only like the highest end video cards like the 7970 or 580 superclocked can run it on those settings.

What is your actual budget.

By the way the optical drive doesn't actually come with the CPU, you can just get it a bit cheaper as a package.

Yeah but I suggest swapping the motherboard you chose with the one I recommend as it will run a bit more but it will be far better in the long run with fewer upgrade hassles.

It might be a combo deal but optical drives are like nothing anymore.

For that price you can't expect to get 60 FPS on the highest settings. Maybe on medium if you can afford a 6870.

Check out my $600 build here:

Gets you and i5 2400 and a 6870. It wouldn't give you the ability to CF in the future unless you upgraded the MB and PSU though. But at your budget it's better to get the key components down.

Your choice, the i3 2100 is a good option to. I never said you couldn't. It's just nice to have a quad now rather than getting one later.

Its mostly the GPU, as long as the CPU doesn't bottle neck the GPU you are fine. Only will need the i5 for large multi-player maps. The 6870 WILL NOT max out battlefield three, no matter how many times you ask. Just accept that its a good card to max it on medium or run slightly lower on high.

So is i3 2100 with gtx better than i5 2400 6870?

Yes... The 560 Ti probably wouldn't run BF3 on ultra either. Why is it that you'll have to run BF3 on max settings? You'll hardly notice the difference from high. I mainly say this because the 560 Ti wouldn't run BF3 on Ultra @ 1080P.

7970
http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/508
As you can see, even the best single card out there now struggles to run BF3 @ 1080P of course this is dependent on your settings. If you're going to run ULTRA no AA or AF then the 7970 barely pulls a steady 70 FPS. With that said, the 560 Ti may run BF3 1080P Ultra at around 45 FPS.

Thanks you need to get the fact that you have to compensate somewhere on this kind of budget. You can't have everything. Where you'd compensate here is your Settings.
