Yes, DVI-D. there are no analog pins on the DVI side. the converter does not work for my Digital out HD 4200 to VGA monitor? What can such a device be used for? Why was it manufactured?

Sounds like either the device is not manufactured correctly, or you need the make sure drivers are working. I would personally go ask this question in the Graphics Section of the Forum.
