Hi all.

I'm looking to get a new camera. My old one is a Olympus C730 UZ which I
have been very happy with as my first digital camera but I am starting to
see the limitations of it and it is a couple of years old.

Basically, the functions I want are:
Digital
5 MP or greater - more the better
Manual focus
Good optical zoom (6x or more) - more the better
Good for action shots
Good macro (not as important)

From having a look around, the Dimage A200 seems ideal. But since I haven't
been reseaching cameras for a couple of years, is there any other
alternatives? The Panasonce FZ20 seems OK but while it has a better optical
zoom, its 3MP less.

My price range is about £400. I've seen the A200 for £384 which seems pretty
good as many other places do it for £499.

Thanks for any help.

The Panasonic FZ20 at around £50 less may also fit your bill. It is 5MP
which is still enough for good 8 x 10 prints. 12:1 zoom (36 - 432mm)
Leica lens with image stabilisation. Try handling both in the shop.

The CCD sensor is smaller in the Panasonic too.

:)
