I need suggestions on a wireless router for gaming. I know going wired is better but my situation requires wireless :(  .
Questions I have; is 300+300 N the3 best I can hope for? I do have cable broadband, (comcast blast).

Is USB or PCIe better for the adapter in the desktop?

Other considerations or questions I should ask?

Thank You so much for any feedback

You will get various opinions regarding the best gaming routers. When it comes down to it, nearly any decent router is sufficient. Your issue will be signal strength/quality in relation to the physical placement of your gaming rig and the router.

I just installed one of these on my daughter's rig and it performs nicely. Also, since it has a USB extension cable, the adapter can be placed for optimal reception (you can also do the same sort of thing with PCI/PCIe adapters with external antennas). Just don't stick the antenna right next to the floor/wall, blocked by the PC and other peripherals/devices.

If you really need another router, look at this one from D-Link:
