Hey everyone! I would like some feedback on a setup I'm going to buy once I sell a few things to get money. I am going to be using it primarily for music production (80%), gaming (15%), video editing (3%), and random browsing (2%). Anyways, here are the specs:

1 x Case ( NZXT Gamma Gaming Case - Black )
1 x Processor ( Intel® Core™ i7-2700K Processor (4x 3.50GHz/8MB L3 Cache) )
1 x Processor Cooling ( Liquid CPU Cooling System [SOCKET-1155] - [Free Upgrade] Standard 120mm Fan )
1 x Memory ( 8 GB [2 GB X4] DDR3-1600 Memory Module - Kingston HyperX )
1 x Video Card ( NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560 Ti - 2GB - Single Card )
1 x Video Card Brand ( Major Brand Powered by AMD or NVIDIA )
1 x Free Stuff ( [Free Game Download] - Battlefield 3 - Free with purchase of Intel 2500K, 2600K, 2700K, 3930K, or 3960X processor )
1 x Free Stuff ( [Free Game Voucher] - Batman Arkham City - Free with purchase of NVIDIA GeForce 5 series video card )
1 x Motherboard ( ASUS P8Z68-V LX -- Lucid Virtu Technology )
1 x Power Supply ( 800 Watt - Standard )
1 x Primary Hard Drive ( 1 TB HARD DRIVE -- 32M Cache, 7200 RPM, 6.0Gb/s - Single Drive )
1 x Optical Drive ( 24X Dual Format/Double Layer DVD±R/±RW + CD-R/RW Drive - Black )
1 x Sound Card ( 3D Premium Surround Sound Onboard )
1 x Network Card ( Onboard LAN Network (Gb or 10/100) )
1 x Operating System ( None- Pre-formatted Hard Drive Only )
1 x Keyboard ( iBUYPOWER USB Keyboard )
1 x Mouse ( iBUYPOWER Internet Mouse )
1 x Warranty ( 3 Year Standard Warranty Service )
1 x Rush Service ( Rush Service Fee (not shipping fee) - No Rush Service, Estimate Ship Out in 5~10 Business Days )

It comes to a total of $1,271.00 - A little bit (50-100) out of my budget so any advice I would happily take!

PS: I'm from Canada so the shipping is more expensive (+$100 -.-) than in the US.

Thanks~

I don't know much about music production, but usually I would say that for video editing and CAD and such, an i7's hyperthreading would find its use.

However, I think that you should go with the i7-2600k if ever, because it's the same chip and you can easily overclock the 2600k to make it identical to the 2700k, all while saving a few bucks!

I like those Kingston Hyper-X, and they're not that expensive, so keep em! :)

Keep your GTX 560Ti.

I would go with a 650-700w PSU, just to be safe, although a 600w should be okay.

If you want a SOLID and upgradable Socket 1155 Z68 motherboard, consider spending ~50$ more on the ASUS P8Z68-V.

Your total should stay about the same... Sorry!
