Either one is fine, but what are you running that needs 1000W?

The Seasonic version is actually better. It uses a higher quality, quieter cooling fan and has a better build quality than the version built for XFX. The warranty period on the Seasonic version is 7 Years and only 5 Years on the XFX version.

It's irrelevant which one is better because you haven't provided any specifications for the system that you are trying to power.

The Seasonic Platinum Series 860 Watt still has a higher quality than the XFX 1000W Black Edition (Platinum) unit but it may have insufficient power capacity.

From what he said above about "just out of curiosity", I don't think he's actually trying to use one of the proposed units on an actual system, he's just on a fact finding mission.
