Hey,

Looking to spend $300 on my GPU situation. Don't know if i'd be better off with a couple XFX Radeon HD 6870 900MHZ 1GB 4.2GHZ cards (at $150 a piece), or a single Powercolor Radeon HD 6970 880MHZ 2GB 5.5GHZ card ($300).

Any information or advices would be appreciated :)

edit: I am also going to OC my CPU to maybe 4.3 - 4.5 ghz.

definitley going with 6870 CF is much better than one 6970 but XFX products become louder and hotter i swear more than 60% complaining this product due to hot and loud your budget is pretty high go for single gtx 570 is much better than both.

Go for the 6970- look towards the future, I have a 6970 and it does a damn good job on 1080p resolution, im talking bf3 maxed, crysis warhead. The only game I had play crappy was crysis 2, but I think its drivers related.

I agree with the cards running hot and loud, but me personally, I never buy the stock cards. I got myself an MSI lightening, and that thing is silent and cool, never broke 55 C.

Well, dude, no doubt the xfire is going to be better than one 6970, but its not really justified anymore. The 6970 will do a great job for the price, and when you need that extra speed, xfire a couple of 6970's.
