hi my acer asphire notebook can not connect to my home network, it was fine at first when we used a different network from the one we have now, but now it says it can not connect to a hidden network but other laptops in the house connect without any problems i have tried everything i can including calling the network provider but couldnt help please help me who ever has an idea on what to do, when i try to troubleshoot it says make sure your laptop is in the range of the network u want to connect what does that mean? thanx in advance.

make sure your laptop is in the range of the network u want to connect what does that mean?

it means that you need to be in range of the wireless network to be able to connect to it.

does it work if you are in the same room?

why are you hiding the wireless network? I will slow down your connection speed. Using wireless security like WPA2 + AES and if necessary MAC filtering should be sufficient.

have you tried connecting while the SSID is visible?
