Why does my replacement screen d630 only display on the left side of screen and

Hello,
I had a cracked screen, on my DELL Latitude D360, ought a replacement installed it. on boot up screen lights up displays on the left side of screeen and splits horizontal will show dell log on top and bottom of screen then crashes, I can Start in safe mode stays on but split horizontal and only on the left side of screen. sent service tag to where i bought the screen and they assured me the screen was fully compatiable. Any thoughts?

It sounds like the cable from the screen to the motherboard is not seated properly. If you have an external monitor, try plugging it and see what the video looks like on it. Was it working with the cracked screen? Just curious... if you dropped it or something, it might be more than just the screen that was broken.
